Come fly with me

I have just heard that English Heritage will be flying over the Isles of Scilly to collect aerial images of the islands.  The Scilly Isles now have reasonable coverage by Google earth, although this only recently became available, but the EH data should be much better.  We are excited as we hope to be able to see many of the inter-tidal fieldwalls that we photographed (I do wonder how many images of walls I should post on this blog).  However for this to happen they need to fly at low tide….

This is a map of everywhere we have identified inter-tidal peats or archeaological remains, all of which we will be visiting in the course of this project.   Those spotting the deliberate mistakes can pat themselves on the back, I did not have time to make the corrections.

    Hi,
you might be interested to know that the Coastal Channel Observatory has pretty decent LIDAR dataset coverage for the isles as well.
